Roman Road“I Am Not Ashamed of the Gospel!

The “new righteousness” that is revealed and obtained by faith is a large change from the “old righteousness” of the law. People generally do not like change. Furthermore, there were for Paul several aspects that were offensive to the audience. Things like grace, a crucified Lord, and the Gospel’s inclusiveness. Of course, there is always the issue of effectiveness or, more bluntly, “Does it really work?” Paul tells us he is not ashamed of the gospel. We will explore some of the hurdles we have to clear to win a hearing of this new righteousness.
