Bible Stories Web Nov 9 IsaiahHope for the Present

Passages in Isaiah 53 and 61 are relatively well known. One describes the coming savior as a suffering servant. The second Jesus reads at the beginning of His ministry as recorded by Luke, Chapter 4. I want to connect these passages to Jesus and introduce the prophets as ones who promote the agenda of God and speak of future hope.

Scripture Reference: Isaiah 61: 1-3

Memory Verse: Isaiah 53: 5b – “…the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed.”
