Advent – The Plan – Week 1
For Advent, we continue our walk through the Bible by looking at the birth of Jesus. The Old Testament is now behind us. God has instituted a covenant of blessing and now, in Jesus Christ, the plan is fully revealed.
John writes: “The law was given through Moses, grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. ” John 1: 17
Paul writes: “This mystery is that through the Gospel the Gentiles are heirs together with Israel, members together of one body, and sharers together in the promise of Jesus Christ.” Ephesians 3: 6
Advent begins the next phase of our walk through the Bible, God’s clear revelation in Jesus Christ is the plan of salvation. Advent shows us the plan, readies us for the plan, and puts the plan in motion.

The prophet of the Christ is now here. The Christ who brings salvation is close behind.
