I am the Bread of Life - WebThis begins our Lenten series on the “I am” statements of Jesus. There is much to say here and in all of the upcoming sermons as the imagery Jesus uses is full of Old Testament reference and meaning, let alone the new understanding that Jesus brings and our applications today. The following are a few associations with bread:

  • Manna from heaven
  •  Bethlehem, in Hebrew means “House of Bread”
  • Communion
  • Man does not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes out of the mouth of the Lord

This week (March 9th) we will look at how Jesus presents Himself to us and what he means by saying “I am the Bread of Life”.

Scripture Reference: John 6: 35-51
