Week Four: Opening Up the Gospel for Advent – John
The story of Jesus for John starts, “in the beginning”. Even the most basic Bible student would recognize this connection with Genesis and creation. With this start, John immediately signals the far-reaching implications of the gospel. His entire prologue (John 1:1-18) is a masterpiece in both summary and foreshadowing. This week we look at John’s ambitious start to his gospel story.
